Knowing the Route:

Trekking Mount Kenya through Sirimon route is much more scenic than the other easiest Naromoru trail. Sirimon is on the drier side of Mount Kenya which offers some of the finest Walking especially during the dry season. Sirimon route goes through forest into a wide ridge approach to the Summit area. The route starts on the Northwest side of the mountain near Nanyuki. Access is adequate and the bunk house facilities are the best on this side of the mountain.

Day 1: Nairobi/Sirimon/Judmier Camp (Old Moses Camp), 3-4hours, 9km, 860m ascent.

Around 7:00am, you will be picked from your hotel in Nairobi and driving through beautiful landscapes within Central Kenyan Highlands and countryside. After 3-4 hours, you will arrive at Nanyuki town and turn to the Sirimon gate 2440m, which is around 1 hour drive. After registration, your lunch will be served here and start the trek following the well marked trail as it meanders through the rain forest which becomes heath land in approximately 3 hours of trekking. Then the trail veers just right to arrive at Judmier Camp aka Old Moses Camp (3300m) for dinner and overnight (L, D).
